License
ApexDesk is free, with every application and every feature for everyday work. No account, no key, no ads.
Free for good
These can use ApexDesk for any purpose, for as long as they like:
Individuals
Personal and home use: your documents, your finances, your studies.
Freelancers
Self-employed professionals earning less than US$100,000 a year from that work.
Small businesses
Companies with fewer than 10 employees.
Education
Students and teachers using it to learn or to teach, in class or at home.
Small municipalities
Public services of municipalities with fewer than 1,000 inhabitants: town hall, schools, libraries…
Volunteer associations
Civil protection, volunteer fire brigades, residents’ associations, sports clubs… with no paid staff and no member receiving financial benefit of any kind.
Religious communities
Churches, parishes and other religious communities.
Every other company: free until 31 December 2027
Any other company or organization can use and try ApexDesk free of charge until 31 December 2027, or until a later date announced here. After that, it will need a business license to keep using it.
Business features
A few features for IT departments need a business license key, such as settings locked with Group Policy, batch conversion, document inventories and the programming interface. Everything else works without one.
Passing it on
You can give anyone exact, unmodified copies of the downloads, free of charge. Selling it, bundling it with something you sell or publishing modified versions is not allowed.
Your documents are yours
The author claims no rights in anything you create, open or edit with ApexDesk.
The fine print
License agreement
The full terms, which come with the program too: in English and in Spanish, the one that prevails.
Privacy
The program needs no account, works offline and sends no personal data, usage statistics or telemetry to anyone. It only connects when a feature you use needs it, such as importing data from a web page. This website has no cookies or trackers; it is hosted by GitHub Pages.
Third-party software
ApexDesk uses open-source components that keep their own licenses. The list is in the third-party notices.
